Samsung Jet Hitting Korea With a 3.5-Inch AMOLED Display and in White and Pink Colours

The Samsung S8000 Jet will be hitting Korea very soon in white and pink colours. The best part is that the Jet will have a larger 3.5-inch AMOLED display, rather than the original 3.1-inch display. The semi-revamped Jet model will also have a T-DMB tuner

Samsung Launching at Least 10 More Touch-Enabled Handsets in Taiwan This Year

According to DigiTimes, Samsung “plans to launch more than 10 touch-enables handsets in the Taiwan market in the second half of 2009.” This is to try to beat out their rival, LG. Although Samsung is first in the global market – shipping 6.1 million touch-enabled handsets in the first quarter of this year – LG has 17% of the touchscreen market in Taiwan, while Samsung only has 12%. Some handsets that will be launched in the second half of this year are the Samsung S8000 Jet, Beat DJ M7600, Omnia II I8000, Galaxy I7500, and the S5600 Blade.

Samsung Jet Viral Video, Kind of Awkward

The Samsung S8000 Jet has been available for a while, but Samsung has just posted its latest video about the handset. You can take a look at it below and tell me what you think about it. Although it was awkward, it was actually kind of clever at the same time.

Samsung Jet Now Available For Free On Vodafone

Samsung just officially announced the Samsung (S8000) Jet yesterday, but today is a day for a new announcement. You can get one now in the UK courtesy of Vodafone – for free! You can get one free if you agree on a 2-year contract that forces you to pay at least £20 ($28 USD) per month. To me, that’s definitely not a bad deal.

It looks to me as if this could be Vodafone’s answer to O2, since they’re launching the awesome Toshiba TG01 for free as well.

Samsung M8920 Gets Q3 Release Date, Omnia2 In October; S8000 To Be Unveiled At Samsung Unpacked?

This is a pretty good day for release dates for Samsung’s handsets. The Samsung M8920 – that has a 12MP camera with 3x optical zoom – will be available by the end of Q3, which is pretty far away, but I’m sure we won’t mind the wait. Another handset that will be available by the end of the year is the Samsung I8000 Omnia2. This WinMo-packing handset  – that has a 3.7-inch AMOLED resistive touchscreen WVGA display – will be available in October of this year.

According to the latest rumours, the phone that will be unveiled at Samsung Unpacked could be the Samsung S8000 Jet. We’ll just have to see on June 15th. I really hope it’s running Android, similar to earlier rumours.

Samsung S8000 Leaks Again; This Time Running Android!!!

It’s been a couple of weeks since we last saw the Samsung S8000 leak and today is a big, juicy day for this handset. Euroset.ru already has the S8000 up for pre-order for 470 euros, but the official release date or price has not been announced. Anyways, the Samsung S8000 has the same 5MP camera with autofocus and a dual LED flash from before, but this time we have a full spec sheet.

The 12mm thin Samsung S8000 will have a 3.1-inch AMOLED display with a WVGA resolution, FM radio, DivX playback, 2GB internal memory, a microSD slot, a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, 3G support, WiFi, aGPS, Bluetooth 2.1, and has USB connectivity. Possibly the best thing about this phone could be its OS. Android!! It will sport a new Android UI though, since it will have some 3D UI flavour to the mix.

I’m certainly excited for this device, but I wish it had a physical QWERTY keyboard. I’m willing to adapt as long as the touchscreen is on par with the iPhone’s though. This looks like a sweet phone, I’m definitely putting this on my list for now.

New Samsung S8000 Photos Leak; 5 Megapixel Camera

New photos have leaked of a new Samsung phone, the S8000. It’s not confirmed right now, but it does look like the real deal. GSM Arena points out that it has a style similar to S8300 UltraTOUCH – without the sliding factor – and the S5600. The Samsung S8000 has a 5MP camera with autofocus and it also has a dual LED flash. It has a nice looking touchscreen although the size is unknown since the spec sheet has yet to be revealed. It will, most likely, have the usual TouchWiz UI. Full spec sheet will be revealed one day, if it’s real that is. I don’t doubt it though.
