Samsung Jet Hitting Korea With a 3.5-Inch AMOLED Display and in White and Pink Colours

The Samsung S8000 Jet will be hitting Korea very soon in white and pink colours. The best part is that the Jet will have a larger 3.5-inch AMOLED display, rather than the original 3.1-inch display. The semi-revamped Jet model will also have a T-DMB tuner

Samsung Launching at Least 10 More Touch-Enabled Handsets in Taiwan This Year

According to DigiTimes, Samsung “plans to launch more than 10 touch-enables handsets in the Taiwan market in the second half of 2009.” This is to try to beat out their rival, LG. Although Samsung is first in the global market – shipping 6.1 million touch-enabled handsets in the first quarter of this year – LG has 17% of the touchscreen market in Taiwan, while Samsung only has 12%. Some handsets that will be launched in the second half of this year are the Samsung S8000 Jet, Beat DJ M7600, Omnia II I8000, Galaxy I7500, and the S5600 Blade.

Samsung Jet Viral Video, Kind of Awkward

The Samsung S8000 Jet has been available for a while, but Samsung has just posted its latest video about the handset. You can take a look at it below and tell me what you think about it. Although it was awkward, it was actually kind of clever at the same time.

Nokia N97 and 5800 XpressMusic Best Sellers on Vodafone UK

The Nokia N97 – that’s overpriced in North America – is available on Vodafone UK for free, that’s probably why it’s Vodafone UK’s top selling mobile phone of July – so far at least. In second is another Nokia handset, the 5800 XpressMusic. The Sony Ericsson W595, C510 CyberShot, and Samsung Jet round out the top 5 mobile phone sellers on Vodafone UK. The bottom five of the top 10 include (in the same order) the: Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition, Samsung Steel L810, Nokia 6300, BlackBerry Storm, and HTC Magic. I just though it was interesting to mention this since the Nokia N97 used to be one of my favourite mobile phones until I read all of the reviews. Top on my list now is the gorgeous and updated Samsung i8910 OmniaHD.

Samsung Jet Gets 2 Million Pre-Orders

Samsung has just announced that the Samsung Jet has received 2 million pre-orders. This is amazing, seeing how this morning Apple just announced that it had sold 1 million iPhone 3GS’s. Keep in mind though, that the Jet was launched to 50 countries, while the iPhone 3GS was only available in 8 countries. Anyways, this is the first time Samsung broke the 2 million mark with one of their handsets. Their next closest handset was the UltraTOUCH which nabbed 1.8 million pre-orders. Their rival, LG, sold 2 million LG Arena’s after a month, so Samsung looks like it may have the upper-hand here. The Samsung Jet’s best specs are its: 800 MHz CPU, 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 resolution, and a 5MP camera that’s also able to record video at 480p.

Definitely a pretty amazing phone, for the time being. Congratulations Samsung!

Samsung Jet Now Available For Free On Vodafone

Samsung just officially announced the Samsung (S8000) Jet yesterday, but today is a day for a new announcement. You can get one now in the UK courtesy of Vodafone – for free! You can get one free if you agree on a 2-year contract that forces you to pay at least £20 ($28 USD) per month. To me, that’s definitely not a bad deal.

It looks to me as if this could be Vodafone’s answer to O2, since they’re launching the awesome Toshiba TG01 for free as well.
