Intel Shows Off Notebook Prototype With 3 Multi-Touch OLED Displays

Intel has just unveiled their latest notebook that will definitely be expensive, but it’ll definitely be awesome. This new notebook concept / prototype by Intel has three (yes, three) OLED displays right above the keyboard. “They can be used to play media without taking up space on the main display but can also interact with each other: a video queued in one can be played on the other. Content can also be dragged to and from the sub-displays as well as the main LCD.” We don’t know if / when this will hit the shelves, but if you’re really interested you should start saving your money now.

Unnamed Samsung Handset Sports 8MP Camera and OLED Touchscreen Display, Set to Be Vodafone Exclusive

These pictures have just been leaked online of an upcoming Vodafone-exclusive Samsung handset running Vodafone’s LIMO-based OS – Linux Mobile. The body of the phones looks like it will be in brushed aluminum. The specs that we know of so far are promising: a big OLED touchscreen display with haptic feedback and an 8MP camera. As you can see (below), there will be social integration into this handset. According to the rumours, an event will be held in London on September 24th – a day before my birthday – regarding this handset. Take a look the link below for more photos of this handset.

Samsung Looking To Ship Out OLED-Equipped Notebooks in the Second Half of 2010

I’ll just get right down to it. At IFA, Samsung stated that OLED-equipped notebooks could become a reality as early as the second half of next year (2010). “The netbook car drives at 100km/h, some of our competitors drive at 150km/h. The target for [us is] 200km/h.” That’s really all they’ve said right now. For now, you can enjoy their proof of concept above, which looks pretty neat – although that keyboard could take some getting used to.

LG Shows Off 15-Inch Possibly MacBook Bound OLED Displays

LG has just unveiled their 15-inch OLED display. The best part here is that this could be the same OLED display that LG could be dishing out for Apple to use. We heard rumours about this back in March (here) and in early August (here), but they are just rumours right now. The good thing is that MacBook Pros from Apple may be the first laptops out there with an OLED display; the bad news here is, of course, going to be the price. Apple notebooks are already expensive as it is, add in the rumoured Blu-ray drive and this rumoured OLED display and then you’re definitely looking into $4,000 to $5,000 USD.

Kodak Shows Off Flexible OLED Display That Works Underwater

We already know about flexible OLED displays and last week we heard about the first flexible LED display. Well, you may or may not know, but flexible OLED displays dislike water – until now, that is.  Kodak just showed off their flexible OLED display that works underwater and they even projected a fish image on it, just for kicks. Pretty cool!

15-Inch LG OLED TV to Be Announced Next Week at IFA 2009, Priced Under Sony’s XEL-1

We already know about LG’s 15-inch OLED TV. It should be launching by the end of this year in Korea. At IFA 2009 this year, LG is set to officially announce their 15-inch OLED TV, which would make it the largest OLED TV ever announced – IFA 2009 will take place between September 4th and 9th. The rumours are also saying that this OLED TV will be priced underneath the whopping £3,500 cost of Sony’s XEL-1 OLED TV.

Update: According to Engadget, this should be launching in Korea this November. Let’s hope it’s cheaper than the Sony XEL-1 in the US, which is $2,500.
