IDF Spawns New Point Grey USB 3.0 1080p-Capable Webcam

At IDF, Point Grey has just awesomely demonstrated their USB 3.0 webcam that will allow you to show off yourself in uncompressed 1080p video at 60fps. Talk about wicked stuff. Gizmodo said, “It’s definitely the sharpest webcam image I’ve ever seen, giving crystal-clear picture even on the huge 42-inch demo monitor.” So, yes, this is a big deal. Unfortunately, USB 3.0 is not entirely mainstream at this point, so you’ll need a PCI-Express-to-USB-3.0 card if you’re really interested. This webcam will be available late this year or early next year, but the price hasn’t been mentioned yet.
